FUN FACT
In 1883 the original Metropolitan Opera House was located on
Broadway between West 39th and West 40th Street and was demolished in 1967.
The current location of the Metropolitan Opera opened in 1966 at Lincoln Center
with the world premiere of Antony & Cleopatra starring Leontyne Price as Cleopatra.
Today Lincoln Center houses the Metropolitan Opera House,
David Koch Theater, David Geffen Hall, the Vivian Beaumont Theater and Alice Tully Hall.
